Fire alarm sparks evacuation

The Government Administration Building was evacuated Wednesday morning after a fire alarm on the second and third floor sounded off. The building was evacuated although the security officers noticed that a faulty wire was the reason for the alarm going off. The security personnel are being criticised for not calling the Fire Department to come and check the system. According to a Fire Department official, the Department office heard about the evacuation and called the Government Building for confirmation. A fire truck was dispatched to the building and firemen were able to check the fire alarm. Civil servants were able to go back into the building after the Fire Department gave the all-clear.
