Final Minister will take oath Monday

WILLEMSTAD--Elsa Rozendal will be sworn in as Curaçao’s new Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports for the MAN party on January 9, according to the former “formateur” and now Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha (MAN).

Until then Prime Minister Hensley Koeiman (also MAN) will take care of the Ministry of Education. Rozendal will have to resign as Member of Parliament (MP) first before taking oath as Minister. She did not want to do so before because of some internal issues within the party about who should succeed her in the legislature.
There was a pre-election agreement between MAN and its candidates on the ballot about personal votes and who should occupy the seats in Parliament earned. According to the party’s leadership these problems have been resolved and the next parliamentarians of MAN are ready to take the places vacated by the Koeiman Cabinet members.
