Ferry services resume from Marigot to Blowing Point

ANGUILLA--A limited ferry service started operations between Marigot and Blowing Point, on Tuesday, November 7. A release from the Anguilla Air and Seaport Authority (AASPA) stated that due to severe limitations at the terminals including electricity supply, it was agreed that only four regularly scheduled round trips will operate from Mondays to Saturdays between the two ports.

A ferry will leave Blowing Point at 8:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. The schedule from Marigot has departures at 9:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

The AASPA is extending thanks to the Government of Anguilla, ferry owners and operators, Marigot Port officials and the other cooperating French authorities for all the diligence, cooperation, persistence and patience exercised that have enabled the resumption of this vital service between Blowing Point Port and Marigot Port.

“Hurricane Irma may have curtailed all our businesses and interrupted the daily movement of our people and of goods between our two communities, but it will not stop our progress,” the release states.

The certified vessels at this time are Calypso Royal, Another Link, Juluca Star, Sahara, GB Express and Niki V. Others are being certified as they are repaired.
