Female tourist drowns on Mullet Bay Beach

PHILIPSBURG--A seventy-four year old American tourist, with initials B.S., drowned on Mullet Bay Beach on Wednesday morning, Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson disclosed in a press release.

The Sint Maarten Police dispatch center received a call regarding a female not showing any signs of life while in the water. “The female tourist went for a swim and was found face down in the water and non-responsive. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed on her while paramedics rushed to the scene to assist with the situation at the beach,” Henson stated. “Results to revive the victim were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead on the scene by a doctor.”

“The Sint Maarten Police Force would like to extend its sympathies to the grieving family and friends of the deceased,” Henson added.
