ST. EUSTATIUS--Telecommunications company Eutel NV has opened up its hotspots on St. Eustatius free of charge to the public until further notice.

Hotspot locations are F.D. Roosevelt Airport and Gallows Bay and Lower Town close to the Public Library.

Eutel Managing Director Liesje Lijfrock-Redan said the free WiFi is offered to better communication on and off island.  St. Maarten-based Telcell is not completely up and running after that island's infrastructure was pummelled by monster Hurricane Irma last week.

Lijfrock-Redan and the Eutel team discussed the island's communication issues after Irma with King Willem-Alexander when he visited the island earlier this week.
