SIMPSON BAY--Escape to the Islands, a new novel from author Russell Clark, a long-time visitor to St. Maarten and homeowner, and first of book series based on St. Maarten/St. Martin, is now available from Good Cards in Simpson Bay, from the Van Dorp locations in Simpson Bay and Philipsburg, and online from Amazon.

Clark describes the book as an “adventure comedy and entertaining beach read.” It revolves around the fictitious character Ben Carlisle whose relaxing vacation turns into the adventure of a lifetime. Ben’s plans for a restful getaway in St. Maarten become much more than that, as he encounters beautiful women, shady businessmen, and life-threatening events that fill his days.

“Readers will recognise many of the locations, restaurants, and boat excursions in the book,” Clark told The Daily Herald, adding that the 358-page novel had taken eight months to write. “This is the first book in a planned series of five. The second book Return to the Islands will come out in July 2021.”

Clark said he hope readers will get hooked, as questions left unanswered at the end of the first book are answered in the second book.

Clark is an attorney and former chief investment officer of a large insurance company.

The book can be purchased from Good Cards at 23 Airport Boulevard, Palapa Marina, Van Dorp on Airport Road in Simpson Bay and Dominica Road in Philipsburg, and from
