Dropping level in storage tank causes water rationing in Statia

STUCO’s new water storage tank.

ST. EUSTATIUS--Residents of St. Eustatius were surprised when they turned on the taps but found no drinking water flowing on Tuesday, November 24. St. Eustatius Utility Company STUCO stated that because of the water level in the storage tank dropping below the desired level it was forced to ration the water supply.

STUCO said it was “hopeful” that it would have additional capacity of water production by today, Wednesday.

STUCO has also been dealing with several water leaks in the pipes in Concordia, Golden Rock and other areas.

Drinking water is currently only available from 5:00 to 8:00am and 5:00 to 8:00pm. STUCO extended its apologies for any inconvenience this situation may cause.
