Driver loses control and injures three

DUTCH QUARTER--Three men were injured by a black vehicle that was driving from “TaTa the Bus driver” roundabout in the vicinity of Madrid Road on Saturday evening.

The police reported that the black car lost control while trying to overtake a bus heading in the same direction and drove into a concrete barricade on the roadside which struck a concrete bench where the three men were sitting.

Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said, “The Police Traffic Department is presently investigating a traffic accident. This took place at 6:15pm at the Tan Tan Supermarket in Dutch Quarter. The driver with the initials K.A.M. (23) for still unknown reasons lost control.”

Two of the three men suffered serious injuries to their ankles, while one man was treated on the scene and needed no further medical attention. One of the victims was taken, on his request, to the French side while the other remains at St Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.
