A red double-decker bus caused quite a stir on Long Wall Road Thursday afternoon when its rear right tires blew out, causing the bus to sink flat to the ground. The incident caused traffic congestion for several hours.
There were 64 tourists on board the bus. Workers manage to drive it onto blocks of wood to remove the damaged tires. By the time that was completed, all tire centres in the area were closed and workers were unable to change the tires on the wheels. Police were seen directing traffic, but long traffic lines were evident because the incident happened during rush hour.
