AIRPORT--Businessman Dexter Doncher was appointed to the Airport Holding board of Princess Juliana International Airport SXM on Tuesday. The Council of Ministers voted on the appointment and Doncher is expected to take up the Chairman’s position on the board.
Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) Mellissa Arrindell-Doncher was not present in the meeting because Doncher is her brother.
In an invited comment, Prime Minister William Marlin confirmed to The Daily Herald that Doncher’s appointment was on the Council of Ministers’ agenda on Tuesday and that his appointment had been approved.
Doncher is a professional and career businessman who has served on several supervisory boards over the years, including on the Airport Holding Company board as a member and as Chairman from 2012 to 2014.
