AIRPORT-- President of the Commonwealth of Dominica Charles Angelo Savarin and his wife Clara Josephine Savarin arrived in St. Maarten for a special visit from Thursday, October 13, through Sunday, October 16, coordinated by Dominica Foundation of St. Maarten. Foundation President Clayton Felix welcomed the special guests to the island Wednesday evening on their arrival.
President Savarin will meet with Governor Eugene Holiday and Prime Minister William Marlin during his visit, as well as Prefétè of Saint Martin Anne Laubies and President of the Collectivité Aline Hanson.
Savarin will address the Dominican community and the St. Maarten public at Belair Community Centre on Friday, October 14, on the topic “Building Meaningful Partnerships and Fostering Relationships through Culture and Education.”
His visit is meant to encourage Dominicans living on the island to take a more active role in the communities of St. Maarten/St. Martin and Dominica.
Savarin and his wife will end their visit with a moonlight lagoon cruise on the Explorer on the evening of Saturday, October 15.
All Dominicans and friends of Dominica are invited to attend the event at Belair Community Centre.
