PHILIPSBURG --The Department of Domain Affairs within the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI will be open to the public on Mondays and Wednesdays only, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Minister Christophe Emmanuel wants to get the Department to get up to standard to be more effective and helpful to the public. The Department has accumulated a backlog over the years which needs to be dealt with.
When the Department is up to date, responses to requests can be given in a timely fashion as well as incorporating more standardized and structured procedures, stated a government press release.
The Department handles assignments and management of domain land, water and real property. The services include new long lease issuance, renewal of long lease, transfers of long lease titles, authorize change in long lease, established lease agreements, right of superficies and execution of sale and purchase of land.
