Detention extended for Union Farm shooter

PHILIPSBURG--The suspected Union Farm shooter is to spend more time behind bars in pre-trial detention. Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting that took place in Union Farm, which has left one man hospitalized.

The stay of the 41-year-old suspect with the initials D.P. was prolonged for eight more days by the Judge of Instruction on Friday.

The shooting survivor is in stable condition and was able to make a statement to Police, according to information from the Prosecutor’s Office.  

In hospital is a construction worker known as “Blacks”, who was shot in his stomach by his neighbour on Marion Evangelien de Weever Hering Drive in Union Farm Estate, just after 7:00pm Tuesday.
