“Queen of Bacchanal” Destra Garcia performing in Carnival City in St. Eustatius on Friday.
- EUSTATIUS--“Queen of Bacchanal” Destra Garcia came out swinging at Mike van Putten Youth Centre/Carnival City on Friday night during the 55th celebration of Statia Carnival.
Destra saw a very large crowd going crazy with her hit songs, with many spectators singing along with her. She interacted with the crowd from the onset of her show to its finish and invited a fan on stage to dance.
The show had an age restriction: no one under the age of 15 years was allowed entrance.
There was only one slight problem during the show, when Destra had a wardrobe malfunction. After a brief pause in her act to rectify the issue with her outfit, the show organised by Statia Carnival Committee continued.
Opening for Destra was local band D’Vybzz. This newly formed band has started to find a place in the hearts of members of the community. Titus band, which is in its second year, came on stage next and had the crowd rocking along until Destra started her performance.
