Delegation from Statia pays St. Kitts/Nevis working visit

ST. EUSTATIUS--A delegation from Statia, which included Island Councilman Clyde van Putten and Director of Tourism Charles Lindo, paid a working visit to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis during the course of last week.

  On Thursday the Statia delegation met with Minister of Tourism, Trade and Commerce Lindsay Grant during which areas of cooperation between both Governments was discussed. The visitors also held meetings and visits to a number of hospitality facilities on St. Kitts.

  On Friday the delegation travelled to Nevis for talks with Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture Alexis Jeffers to extensively discuss matters pertaining to agriculture and other areas of cooperation. The delegation toured a number of farms and other agricultural properties on the Island.

  The visit ended Sunday with an informal breakfast meeting between Van Putten and former Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Denzil Douglas.
