‘Decision’ on James’ credentials back on MPs’ agenda for today

PHILIPSBURG--An urgent meeting of Parliament has been called by Parliament Chairperson Sarah Wescot-Williams for 3:00pm today, Monday, with the focus on the legislature taking a decision on the credentials of incoming substitute Member of Parliament Jules James. He is to occupy the seat of suspended MP Theo Heyliger.

  The agenda states the “ratification” of the committee report to examine credentials based on Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Rules of Order of Parliament and approval of the admission of deputy Member of Parliament for Heyliger in accordance with Article 50, Paragraph 3 of the Constitution.

  The parliamentary session is open to the public will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, SXM GOV radio 107.9FM, Pearl Radio 98.1FM,
