Deadline to pick up approved licences extended to Aug 14

PHILIPSBURG--Persons whose business licences were approved before January 1 have a little time longer to pick up their licences.

The Department of Economic Licenses has extended the August 1 deadline for the pick-up of approved licences to operate a business in the country to Friday, August 14.

All uncollected licences that were approved prior to January 1 must be picked up by the new deadline. Licenses not picked up by the deadline will be discarded and applicants will have to re-apply and pay the applicable processing fee(s), The department said in a press release on Sunday.

Effective August 1, the Department of Economic Licenses will keep all requests, including approved licences for a maximum of six months, after which the file will be discarded and applicants will have to re-apply and pay the applicable processing fee.

This is applicable for requests for business, branch, director, amendments to licenses already issued, vending and operational licences. The department is in the process of cleaning up its database of uncollected licences.

Additional information can be obtained by visiting the department at Zoutsteeg #3, Philipsburg or call tel. 542-2986.
