Damage control

A two-day Central Banking Conference started on Thursday at Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) in Willemstad.

Interim President-director Leila Matroos-Lasten warned that “in small economies like ours the failing of financial institutions can be a big threat, not just to the system, but for the wellbeing of society in general. Considering the continued risk of financial instability, it is essential to have an effective processing regime to solve crisis in an orderly manner.” The gathering is themed “Reinventing Central Banking, supporting inclusive growth and financial innovation.”
