CTOS union UNI-T 978 calls for unlimited strike from October 1

MARIGOT--In a communiqué addressed to Préfète Déléguée Sylvie Feucher, President of the Collectivité Daniel Gibbs, the President of Caisse Territorial des Oeuvres Scolaires (CTOS) and the public services of the Collectivité, the union UNI-T 978 has called for an unlimited strike from Thursday, October 1.

The strike concerns all public services of the Collectivité and CTOS. The union indicates in its strike notice that “two strike notices were filed on September 4 and 17, to which the President has postponed the third paragraph of the notice, a failure to comply with Article three of Law No. 777 of July 31, 1963. This is for us a characterised form of contempt that we can no longer tolerate.”

The union’s demands include: establishment of mandatory and necessary bodies for the operation of services, respect for working conditions, requirement on revision of the criteria for career advancement of workers, appointment of members for the Health Safety and Working Conditions Committee, correcting deplorable working conditions for Collectivité and CTOS workers, stopping contempt for employees, and establishing a health and protection policy for workers and the population.

The rendezvous is to be held outside Hotel de la Collectivité, at 7:00am on October 1.
