Cruise ships bringing some 12,000 passengers

A trio of cruise ships bringing some 12,000 passengers opened the New Year. “Disney Fantasy,” “Marella Discovery” and “Harmony of the Seas” were the first to visit the country in 2018.

Tuesday’s call by Disney marked the return of that cruise line and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Genesis Class ship “Harmony” to the country after Hurricane Irma. Port officials said in a press statement it was “very important to keep the destination looking clean by throwing thrash in the bin. All eyes are on the destination with a microscope and we must remain cognizant of what we have achieved and continue to go above and beyond in our efforts.”
