PHILIPSBURG--Detectives are investigating a case of ill-treatment that took place at a home on Stage Horn Road in Beacon Hill on Saturday at 6:30pm.
According to the investigating officers, the couple involved in this case were experiencing serious distress with one another. The situation got out of control and became physical. At one point one of the parties got hold of a knife.
Both parties suffered injuries during the fight and had to be treated at St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).
The reason for the stabbing was unclear, but after treatment both individuals were transported to the police station for further interrogation. The knife used in the fight was confiscated.
