Civil Registry closed for four day training

PHILIPSBURG--Both locations of the Department of Civil Registry will be closed for four days as of today, Tuesday, August 30, up to and including Friday, September 2, to enable workers to undergo important training.

The department will resume its normal business hours as of Monday, September 5. During the closure, emergency cases can be handled by calling tel. 542-0652 or 526-1543.
Minister of General Affairs Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs told The Daily Herald that the closure is to enable employees to undergo training that could not be avoided.
One training is needed for passport audits (Tuesday/Wednesday) and the other (Thursday/Friday) to ensure all current staff are trained to handle Dutch nationality issues. “A team is available to be able to handle emergencies as the training takes place at the Government Administration Building,” Jacobs stressed.
