PHILIPSBURG--Motorworld and S.L. Horsford & Co. Ltd., through Horsford’s Automotive, officially introduced Chery vehicles to St. Kitts and Nevis on Friday, September 25.
The launch took place at Horsford’s Automotive on Wellington Road and brought together customers, partners, media and invited guests for an introduction to Chery’s SUV lineup.
Attendees were able to view the vehicles and learn about their technology, design, safety features and pricing. Cultural presentations by masquerades and mocko jumbies also formed part of the event.
Motorworld Executive Chairman Tariq Amjad said the company was pleased to partner with Horsford’s Automotive to bring Chery vehicles to the local market.
“We are proud to partner with Horsford’s Automotive to bring Chery’s design, quality and innovation to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. The response to the launch reflects the growing interest in Chery across the Caribbean and the confidence customers are placing in a brand that continues to raise the standard of modern mobility,” Amjad said.
Horsford’s Group Executive Chairman Anthony Kelsick said the launch represented an important step for the company and the local automotive market.
“Chery represents a fresh opportunity for customers in St. Kitts and Nevis to access stylish, well-equipped and affordable new vehicles from a global automotive brand,” Kelsick said. “The tremendous response to the launch speaks to the public’s excitement and confidence in what Horsford’s Automotive is bringing to the market.”
Automotive Executive Joel MacEachrane said the vehicles were selected with current customer needs in mind.
“We are proud to introduce vehicles that combine comfort, technology, safety and
exceptional value,” MacEachrane said. “From the moment the vehicles were revealed, the excitement was clear. This is only the beginning of the Chery journey in St. Kitts and Nevis.”
The launch followed a promotional campaign led by Horsford’s Group Marketing Manager Wallis Wilkin.
“Our goal was to make people feel the arrival of Chery before they even stepped onto the showroom floor,” Wilkin said. “The response across the Federation has been remarkable. The turnout, excitement and overall atmosphere demonstrated that Chery has already created a strong buzz in the market.”
The arrival of Chery adds another automotive brand to the St. Kitts and Nevis market, with Motorworld and Horsford’s Automotive offering the brand’s vehicles to local customers.
Motorworld said the launch forms part of its continued expansion of automotive brands and technologies across the Caribbean.
