CGC presents 2018 year report to prime minister

PHILIPSBURG--The Corporate Governance Council (CGC) has presented its 2018 Year Report to Prime Minister (PM) Leona Romeo-Marlin. CGC Chairperson Charles Smith and board member Cindy Marica presented the report during a courtesy visit to the PM’s office recently.

  The 2018 CGC Year Report covers a summarized account of the activities of the Corporate Governance Council during the year in question.

  During the presentation of the report, the prime minister and CGC briefly discussed certain challenges that the Council still faces such as budget, housing and hiring of a staff member in order for the CGC to function optimally. The prime minister expressed her support and encouraged the efforts of the CGC in promoting and upholding the principles of good governance with an explicit emphasis on transparency, a press release issued by the Cabinet of the Prime Minister stated over the weekend.
