WILLEMSTAD--Management of the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) only took note in the media of a summary court case against them by the Supervisory Board and were as yet unaware of the demand, so they couldn't comment yet.
The injunction was filed against directors Emsley Tromp, Alberto Romero and Jerry Hasselmeyer. The hearing is scheduled for August 17, but no more details were released.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the joint monetary authority since the former Netherlands Antilles was dismantled per 10-10-10. As first Prime Minister of country Curaçao, MFK-leader Gerrit Schotte traded serious accusations with Tromp and the board members appointed by the then PS/MFK/MAN coalition basically boycotted management.
