PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) reminded the public on Tuesday that registration of potential booth-holders for Carnival 2019 will close on Tuesday, July 31.
As Carnival 2019 will be the 50th anniversary of St. Maarten’s Carnival, SCDF will expedite several organisational aspects in anticipation of a much busier Carnival season.
“We want to get a jump on certain aspects of Carnival that we can finalise in a short time. The allotment of booths is one such aspect,” SCDF explained.
The public still received the same two months registration period, which normally is later in the year. Registration was opened with continued focus on identifying unique culinary experiences in Carnival Village.
“Every year there are so many people who want the opportunity to operate a booth in Carnival Village. They present various ideas as well. We are opening registration from early to review registrants and their ideas for a booth,” SCDF explained.
