Body found in Grand Case house after fire put out

MARIGOT--The French fire brigade (sapeurs pompiers) responded to a fire at a house in Grand Case on Friday afternoon around 3:00 where a body was discovered after the fire had been extinguished. The Gendarmes were subsequently summoned to the scene.


It was not known if the individual found on the ground floor of the house was a man or woman, and if the victim had died from smoke inhalation or other causes. An investigation into the fire and discovery of the deceased has been opened by the Prosecutor.
No further information could be obtained from the Prosecutor or Gendarmerie Sunday by press time.
