WILLEMSTAD--Monday night around 11:00pm a FRISC interceptor of recently arrived Royal Netherlands Navy station ship Zr. Ms Zeeland was dispatched with a team of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard on board after a suspicious vessel had been spotted east of Curaçao.
Upon arrival, it turned out to be a Yola boat with 37 undocumented persons including a minor. The FRISC received assistance from a Coast Guard Metal Shark to transfer all the migrants to the naval base at Parera.
After all formalities had been completed, the detainees were handed over to the assistant public prosecutor early Tuesday morning.
