WILLEMSTAD--In close cooperation with Curaçao and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the United States (US) Air Force is providing support to current counter-narcotics efforts in the region. They will temporarily base an E-3 Sentry aircraft, commonly referred to as AWACS, in Curaçao.

According to a release by the American consulate in Willemstad, this “recurring, multi-national counter-narcotics effort reflects our ongoing commitment to global counter-narcotics cooperation. In addition, the partnership will strengthen ties between the United States, Curaçao and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

“The United States expresses its gratitude to the people and government of Curaçao for their support of this mission and our ongoing partnership in assisting international efforts to combat global narcotics trafficking.”
