At Kingdom Council

Minister Plenipotentiary Henrietta Doran-York addressed the Kingdom Council of Ministers on December 15 in what was probably the last meeting of her tenure due to the pending change of government in St. Maarten.

She said her two-plus year tenure has been “very interesting and informative.” In a press statement she made it “crystal clear” that she remains fully behind the outgoing St. Maarten government, in particular former Prime Minister William Marlin and the stance he took in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. She said despite being very thankful for all the help received after Irma and Maria, her advice is to try to improve the communication and cooperation with and between the kingdom partners. She called on all in the meeting to leave the past behind and look to the future of the Kingdom. In photo: Doran-York flanked by the Ministers Plenipotentiary of Aruba and Curaçao.
