Asset Recovery Team confiscates Porsche

The Porsche Boxster seized on Friday.

PHILIPSBURG--In connection with the “DOP” investigation, the Asset Recovery Team seized a Porsche Boxster on A.Th. Illidge Road on Friday.

Suspect H.B.G.R. (34) is the owner of the vehicle and is accused of a number of criminal offences, including money-laundering.

The investigation revealed that the suspect had no legal income that could justify ownership of a Porsche Boxster.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office public relations spokesman, the vehicle was confiscated because crime should not pay.

The DOP investigation is still being pursued. Proceeds of the Asset Recovery Team’s work will benefit country St. Maarten.
