“Attitude,” a pastel portrait by Anderson Flanders.

EBENEZER--Young St. Maarten artist Anderson Flanders has received acceptance of his pastel portrait called “Attitude.” The portrait of his young nephew Mason, the son of his brother Johnathan Flanders, will be part of the American Artists Professional League’s ninetieth Grand National Juried Exhibition at Salmagundi Club in New York City, November 11-19.

Flanders will be attending the awards ceremony and reception in New York on November 18 with his mentor Claudia Post, who is also accepted into the show.

“I am working on my studies and skills daily in the Atelier Studio. I am creating new exhibition work and easel paintings as well as commissioned portraits of people and pets,” Flanders said in an email message on Monday. He studies and works in Chester, Connecticut, to develop himself as an artist.
