MARIGOT—Air Antilles planes were temporarily grounded as of December 8 at midnight after the French Civil Aviation Authority suspended the airline’s operating license. This latest development adds more woes to the troubled airline.

The planes are reportedly grounded until December 16. According to reliable airport sources, the French Civil Aviation Authority conducted an audit recently and found flight organisation and safety did not conform to required standards. No reservations were possible on the Air Antilles website.

A statement subsequently issued by Air Antilles said it was an administrative suspension for an undetermined period.

The airline is currently scrambling to rebook passengers who hold tickets onto competitor airlines.
