Abraham now commissioner

BONAIRE--Clark Abraham was appointed as Bonaire’s commissioner again hardly two weeks since re-entering the Island Council for opposition party PDB, after Michael Pieters had stepped down citing differences with fraction leader Robby Beukenboom to make room for Abraham.

The latter subsequently went independent to form a new coalition with MPB and also independent member Nunu Raphaela. This meant Joselito Statie, who had been backed by the other independent member Esther Bernabela, could no longer remain in the Executive Council and was replaced by Abraham.

His seat in the Island Council is now going back to Pieters, who is still next in line and will likely go independent as well to back the new local government.
