34 active COVID-19  cases as of Sunday

One patient remains at SMMC

PHILIPSBURG--The country’s active COVID-19 cases remained at 34 as of Sunday, April 18.

  Two positive COVID-19 cases and two recoveries were reported as of Saturday. On Friday, one person tested positive for COVID-19 and three recoveries were reported. No COVID-19 updates were provided on Sunday.

  The total number of confirmed cases remains at 2,205.

  Collective Prevention Services (CPS) is monitoring 34 persons who are currently in home isolation. One patient remains hospitalised at St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC). The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at 27.

  There are 37 persons in quarantine based on contact-tracing investigations carried out by CPS of persons who may have been in contact with any of the active cases.

  The number of persons recovered since the first case surfaced in St. Maarten is 2,144.

  The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor VSA Airport Health Team in collaboration with Health Care Laboratory St. Maarten (HCLS) has tested 2,666 travellers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA), while CPS tested 26,322 persons throughout the community.
