30 years asked for Jamaloodin

WILLEMSTAD--The Prosecutor’s Office has demanded a 30-year prison sentence against former Minister of Finance George “Jorge” Jamaloodin. He is charged with giving the order and money for the paid murder of PS-leader and then Member of Parliament (MP) Helmin Wiels in 2013.

Earlier, Burney Fonseca had been sentenced to 26 years for arranging the assassination on behalf of Jamaloodin. In 2014, triggerman Elvis “Monster” Kuwas received life imprisonment for various murders, including that of Wiels.

Jamaloodin denies any involvement in the case. The former MFK-minister is also on trial for abuse of government subsidies and forgery.
