2019 Budget for approval in Parliament as of today

PHILIPSBURG--The draft 2019 budget is up for approval in Parliament as of today, Tuesday, five months into the year it is intended to regulate.

The plenary session in Parliament House starts at 2:00pm and is expected to not only bring out questions from Members of Parliament, but also motions to change sessions or redirect funds.

The Council of Ministers is expected to be present for the tabling of the draft budget.

The draft deficit budget was reviewed in the Central Committee of Parliament in late March. Those sessions saw many questions from MPs on both sides of the aisle about numerous items, but no definite changes were tabled by any.

Also on the agenda are the regulation of tasks; incoming documents; approval of the decision lists of several public meetings; the approval of the draft parliamentary contact plan for Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten and Suriname; and final declaration of the parliamentary consultation of Suriname and Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten.

The parliamentary session is open to the public and will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, SXM GOV radio 107.9FM, Pearl Radio 98.1FM,
