PHILIPSBURG--Police arrested A.O. and T.A.J. in connection on Saturday with the ill-treatment of a victim in the vicinity of Pointe Blanche.
The Police Dispatch Centre received a call about a fight/ill-treatment that was taking place with five persons against one person.
Officers rushed to the scene and were able to apprehend two of the five suspects and place them under arrest. The two suspects were brought to the station for further questioning. Police stated on Tuesday that they are aware of the video that has been circulating on social media in connection to this fight/ill-treatment.
The suspects informed the detectives that the victim in the situation had stolen one suspect’s car and removed the number plates from the vehicle. The suspects located the stolen vehicle and the victim in the Pointe Blanche area, at which time the situation escalated and police were called to the scene.
