With SXM Festival officially underway as of yesterday, the island is already grooving, but you haven’t missed out because the real momentum builds from today onward. If you’re looking to navigate the experience like a pro, this guide maps out how to approach each day, where to go, and how to pace yourself across our island’s most dramatic party locations.
THURSDAY, MARCH 19 – EASE INTO THE RHYTHM
Today is your perfect entry point: The energy is high but still manageable before the weekend peak. Start out right by heading to the iconic K-Like Karakter, on the expansive, white sands of Simpson Bay Beach. Take a beach swim in the crystal-clear water and dive into the music! This party at Karakter kicks off at noon; lunch is available for purchase; enjoy a great line-up and an amazing sunset.
If you booked a pass to the famous Boat Party, plan to arrive a bit early for registration and boarding at 2:30pm. All details are in the Festival App.
As the night rolls in, the natural beauty of Happy Bay Beach awakens at 8:00pm. From then on, you can enjoy the festival for the entire evening alternating to see different DJs performing simultaneously at Happy Bay Arc stage and the Oceanside venue. Expect curated sets that blend deep house and melodic sounds, ideal for transitioning into festival mode. It’s all about barefoot dancing, ocean views, reconnecting with friends or meeting new ones.
FRIDAY, MARCH 20 – FULL IMMERSION
Friday is where the festival hits its stride. By now, everyone has arrived, and the energy becomes unmistakably global as crowds from dozens of countries converge in one place. Start early if you can. Head over to JOA Beach in Orient Beach which opens at noon. Day parties on Friday are some of the most iconic of the entire festival. The music builds gradually under the sun. Expect longer sets from artistes, giving them space to tell a story. At Panorama Party (Rainforest Adventure Park, Philipsburg) get lifted to the top of the island for full expansive 360-degree views. Lift starts to take you up at 1:00pm. Embrace this amazing venue as the sun sets, the transition from day to night is part of the show!
Between venues, consider taking a break. Hydrate, eat, and reset because Friday night is not to be underestimated. The two performance areas at Happy Bay fire up by 8:00pm and go into the early morning hours.
SATURDAY, MARCH 21 – THE PEAK EXPERIENCE
Saturday is the crown jewel of the weekend. Everything from production, performances, and crowd energy all reaches its highest level. Your strategy here should be intentional. If there’s a “must-see” location or artiste, this is the day to prioritize it.
Daytime events on Saturday often feel like mini festivals themselves. Expect larger crowds, more elaborate setups, and a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere from the start. You’ll want time to settle in before the space fills up, so plan to arrive a tad earlier than you normally would. Bamboo Beach opens at noon and if you got the “extra ticket,” you can head over to the Villa “Soley” Party at 1:00pm. There is a shuttle available from Bamboo Beach to the villa and returning. As night falls, Happy Bay has an epic line-up, including Owlish and the iconic Deep Dish. Plan to get there by 8:00pm.
SUNDAY, MARCH 22 – THE GRAND FINALE
Sunday carries a different kind of magic. There’s a sense of closure, but also freedom – people let go, and the vibe becomes more emotional and celebratory. Take some time to regroup, but the final night is not to be missed. Closing parties at SXM Festival are legendary for a reason. Artistes play incredible sets; the crowd is fully locked in, and there’s a shared understanding that this is the last dance. Happy Bay starts at 8:00pm – Headliner Carl Cox takes the stage at 2:30am! Be sure to go all out at the Bamboo Sunrise Party from 5:00am till 11:30am.
MONDAY, MARCH 22 – A HAPPY ENDING
Just when you thought it was all over, there is now an additional day! If you haven't gotten enough festival vibes, be sure to head to Beach Club starting at 4:00pm for the true final dance of SXM Festival 2026.
