Despite a passing rain shower earlier, the final night of St. Maarten Heineken Regatta delivered a “smooth sailing” close to an intense day on the water. After a massive day of racing in strong winds and big waves, sailors made their way ashore to Regatta Village where locals and visitors gathered together for the much-anticipated Reggae Night finale.
Those who arrived early were treated to the unmistakable sounds of the infamous Percy Rankin and the Bunfire Band, widely known as one of St. Maarten’s best reggae bands and a group that performs regularly across the islands. Their performance set the tone for an evening dedicated to rhythm, unity, and good island vibes.
A standout moment of the night came from Tanya Michelle, whose big, booming voice captured the attention of the crowd and did not go unnoticed. She was joined on stage by local male singer Adrien, adding another layer of energy and talent to the performance. The KRG Band held everything together beautifully, creating a tight musical backbone for the evening’s artistes, including Wayhne, Nolrez, and D. Kallus.
Keeping the energy high between sets and at the end of the night, local DJs EM, Outkast, Big Boss, and Maestro pumped up the crowd with favourite tracks that kept the audience moving and the atmosphere lively. Then, as the skies cleared, the moment that many had been waiting for came: The stage was set for headliners Inner Circle – legendary reggae ambassadors whose music brought the entire crowd together in true “One Love” spirit.
Sailors, locals, and visitors alike rallied as one, celebrating the successful end of another exciting regatta. With music in the air and reggae love all around, the 2026 St. Maarten Heineken Regatta came to a joyful close.
Special thanks go out to the organizers of the regatta, the hardworking food vendors, the sponsors and, of course, the sailors and participants who make this world-class event possible each year.
