Entering Porto Cupecoy’s main square, you might get distracted by all the great dining options. But trust us, if you keep walking towards the water, you will discover a hidden gem tucked away right on the waterfront. There you will find fantastic appetizers, fresh seafood, delicious cocktails, wonderful service and so much more.
Big Cee’s has been impressing locals and tourists alike with fresh and tasty food and gorgeous views of the Porto Cupecoy Marina since the restaurant opened its doors in May 2021. Fun fact: The restaurant was named Big Cee’s after the three friendly staff members named Carlos. Coincidence? We think not.
The waterfront restaurant specializes in – you guessed it – seafood. Carlos, Carlos and Carlos source all their fish locally – from fresh snapper, to mahi mahi, to grouper, they pick up whatever is available at the fish markets to provide their customers with the freshest, tastiest meals.
But meat lovers need not fear as Big Cee’s also offers meat specialties such as ribs, lamb shank and ribeye steak. Or why not combine the two in their famous Surf n Turf with either steak and shrimp or steak and lobster?
Although Big Cee’s does not include many vegetarian options on its menu, owner Carlos tells us that they will ensure any vegetarians or vegans will have a delicious meal if they call in advance. “We’ll make them a special menu – we don’t leave anyone out,” he says.
Although the restaurant has international dishes, the menu still resembles the island’s culture with rice and peas, tropical sauce or plantains – the chefs at Big Cee’s love to add little Caribbean touches to each dish.
Of course, we could not leave without discussing drinks and desserts. A new dessert menu is in the works, but the homemade strawberry cheesecake and tiramisu are here to stay. As for drinks, the knowledgeable bartender has got all the classic cocktails covered and knows the restaurant’s extensive wine list by heart.
The restaurant’s spacious indoor area and outdoor terrace – both with that amazing waterfront view – make it a perfect event venue. Big Cee’s is a proud host of birthday parties, celebratory dinners, and wedding receptions – just make sure to book well in advance to secure your spot.
