A night of celebration and service

Rotary Change of Board Gala

On Saturday, June 21, the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten hosted its prestigious Change of Board Gala for the 2025-2026 Rotary year. The red carpet event, which took place at Port St. Maarten, brought together Rotarians, community leaders, and friends for an evening of reflection, recognition, and excitement looking forward to the future.

A major highlight of the evening was the naming of Rotarians of the Year – a title that honors exceptional dedication and service within the community. This year, the Rotary Club was proud to recognize Robert Judd and Danny Ramchandani for their outstanding contributions. Both individuals have gone above and beyond in their commitment to the principles of Rotary, demonstrating leadership, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to service above self.

In a heartfelt ceremony, outgoing President Sochrin presented the awards to both Judd and Ramchandani, acknowledging their tireless work in furthering the Club’s mission. Sochrin: “These two have gone above and beyond and truly exemplified what it means to be a Rotarian, Service above Self.”

The night was filled with camaraderie and gratitude as the Club looked back on the many accomplishments of the past year under Sochrin’s leadership, while also looking forward to the exciting plans for the 2025-2026 Rotary year. The Change of Board Gala also marked the passing of the presidential baton, with Sochrin handing over the leadership role to Ms. Adelena Chandler, who pledged to lead with compassion and unity, as she reflected on her journey of joining the Club in 2016. “Together we can create lasting change,” Chandler stated to the crowd.

This annual event not only celebrated the accomplishments of individual Rotarians, but also served as a reminder of the powerful impact of community service. The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten continues to be a force for good, bringing together individuals who are committed to making a difference both locally and globally. With renewed energy, new leadership and a strong foundation of dedicated members like Judd and Ramchandani, the Club is poised for another successful year of service and community engagement. Many raffle tickets went out with great prizes awarded, such as free Domino’s pizza for a year!

The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten looks forward to another year of working together to create lasting change and uphold Rotary's core values of fellowship, integrity, diversity, and service.
