Kids @ SXM DOET

Kids @ SXM DOET

St. Maarten was abuzz with activity this past weekend as some 1,400 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to make a difference in the community during the SXM DOET event.

This is part of the largest volunteer initiative in the whole Dutch Kingdom. More than 90 projects were completed – improving schools, day-care centres, gardens and other public spaces, helping those in need, and much more!

Lots of kids like you joined the projects, many of you helping out in your own schools and day-care centres. Painting and gardening especially were a big hit, when it came to kids participating in SXM DOET.

The SXM DOET coordination team said there was a great collaboration between “funding agencies, government departments, businesses, organisations and especially our volunteers – a huge impact was felt on St. Maarten!”
