New patient-centred medical clinic

Opening April 1 at the Dannaway Center in Simpson Bay

A new medical clinic will officially open its doors on April 1 at the Dannaway Center, bringing a fresh, patient-centred approach to healthcare to the community. Founded by Dr. J A Wismeijer, the clinic is built on the idea that healthcare works best when doctor and patient collaborate closely. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, the clinic emphasizes understanding each individual’s needs and working together to find effective, personalized solutions.

The practice will offer general medical care while placing strong focus on health education and prevention, helping patients not only treat illness but also make informed decisions to improve their long-term wellbeing. This approach aligns with modern primary care principles where prevention and patient-involvement are key to better outcomes – hence the name HVM Clinic for Health, Vitality, Wisdom!

In addition to standard consultations, the clinic will introduce private, one-on-one coaching sessions starting later this year. These sessions are designed for individuals seeking more in-depth guidance on lifestyle, health goals, and sustainable change.

The clinic aims to create a supportive and accessible environment where everyone feels heard and involved in their care. Those who are outside the scope of SZV coverage will need to be funded privately – all patients are welcome. The clinic is currently located at the Dannaway Center (opposite Sol gas station) and is now accepting inquiries ahead of its opening.
