WIB Lions roar in softball knock out

Windward Islands bank Lions have advanced to the final of the Casino Controllers and Survivors Girls Softball Team’s, Fundraising Softball Knockout at The Little League Ballpark on Pond Island.
  Action began Thursday and the final will be Saturday, October 24.
  A total of eight teams competed in the event designed to raise money so the two host teams can travel to Aruba to compete in a softball tournament there.
 
Thursday  
Controllers opened the competition against Veterans and won 9-5. In the second game of the night Lions roared past St. Peters 7-4 Thursday.

Friday
  Cocolos bested Police 11-6 and Astros knocked out Superstars 14-4 Friday. 

 Saturday
  Despite rain St. peters squeezed past Friends 7-6 and Lions blasted Braves 7-1 Saturday.

  Sunday

Superstars bounced back to beat Cocolos 9-6 Sunday.  In other games Astros defeated Braves 8-1 and St. Peters clobbered Cocolos 15-3 Play resumes at 8:00pm Saturday as Stars meet Astros. Winner advances to the final to face Lions.
