Tahla’O reels in Wahoo tourney championship

BOBBY’S MARINA--Tahla'O from St. Barths, repeated as champion boat in the 8th edition of the.  Tahla'O landed a total 611.5 lbs of wahoo.
  Organized by the St. Maarten Sportfishing Foundation, the tournament drew 16 boats.
   Fishing boat Aferado reeled in 287.5 lbs of wahoo Saturday and landed the largest wahoo of the day at 55.6 lbs. to take the overnight lead.
  Yellow Whip from St. Martin was second with 281 lbs of wahoo.
  Fortunes changed Sunday. The first boat to the dock and at the scale was Turn and Burn from St. Croix.  Their female angler hauled in 14 wahoo and a Kingfish to take the lead.
  Blue Crush from Saba showed up to the docks with 65.9 lbs of wahoo caught by their junior angler.
  A few minutes later defending champions Tahla'O arrived and started offloading.  One, two, three, four.  The count increased.  Eleven wahoo and one yellow fin tuna coupled with their day one tally earned Tahla’O another Championship.

  Other awards went to Best Junior Angler; Jabingi Zagers on Blue Crush; Best Female Angler: Jackie Goodyear on Turn n Burn; Largest Mahi Mahi: Living the Dream from St. Croix 14.8 lbs.; Largest Tuna: Tahla'O 49.2 lbs. and   Largest Kingfish and a new tournament record: Turn n Burn 44.7 lbs
