MARIGOT—To coincide with International Women's Day, Avenir Sportif Club will organise the fourth edition of "La Saint Martinoise! 100 % Feminine Race” on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
The 2015 edition was a big hit with some 250 women, runners and walkers participating. The club hopes this year even more women will take part, and invites them to sign up.
As in previous years, “La Saint Martinoise” begins at 4:00 pm on the Marigot waterfront for a 5K circuit of Marigot.
Three events have been proposed to participants; the 5K individual running race, 5K running race for mother and daughter (from 12 years old), and a 5K individual walking race. A collective warm-up will be proposed from 3:15pm with the team of SXM Fitness supervising a stretching routine.
While waiting for the prize giving ceremony to start, numerous gifts can be won in the raffle. An "Afro Caribbean Dance" will be performed by the Deyon choreographer of "Rhythm & Groove Dance Studio Association.”
This year registration takes place over three days with gifts offered on registration. The first registration day is Saturday, March 5, from 9:30am to 6:30pm at the Quiksilver store in Hope Estate. The first 100 women to register will receive 25 per cent discount gift vouchers valid from March 5 to 12 at ten partner stores of the organisation.
On March 11 registration is from 9:30am to 6:00pm and March 12 from 9:30 am to 1:00pm at the SPORTECH store in Bellevue on both days.
On Sunday, March 6, 2016, the club is offering to show the route. Meeting point is at the departure line at 6:30am. Registration fee is 10€ or US $10. A valid medical certificate not older than three months is required for runners only. For more information, call (0690) 75.16.85.
