St. Maarten gears up for Carifta Games

CAY HILL—The St. Maarten National Track and Field Championship be held at Raoul Illidge Sports Complex Sunday.
  Organized by the St. Maarten Amateur Athletic Association the competition is open to boys and girls age seven and up.   The meet runs from 1:00 to 4:pm.
  Children ages seven to 10 will compete in the  60 metres,  ball throw  and  600 metres. Boys and girls age 11 to 14 will run 80 and 1,000 metres and compete in  long jump and shot put.
  The age 15 to 18 year olds will run  100,  400 and 1,500 metres as well as competing in long jump and javelin throw.
  The open class will sprint the 100 metres, do the high jump,  hurdles and  relay race.
  There will music,  entertainment and a raffle to  raise funds for the team to compete at 2016 Carifta Games to be held in Grenada Over Easter Weekend.
