President St. Maarten Soccer Association Sudesh Singh (r) and long with national team coach Sandro Garcia presented Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Silveria Jacobs with a certificate of gratitude and a report on the 2016 CFU Futsal Qualifier Tournament in Cuba on Tuesday.
St. Maarten fielded a team of 10 in the competition held at the Sala Polivalente Kid Chocolate Stadium in Havana, November 2015. The Association expressed their gratitude to the Government for receiving subsidy to take part in the tournament. St. Maarten has now been invited to host upcoming International tournaments in June and November of 2016, which they hope to accomplish with the assistance of the community and government as well.
