ST. EUSTATIUS— Carla Duinkerk, Nildo Wever, Dane Connell and Penthro Krikko successfully completed the Buurt Sport Coach course.
Over a six month period the coaches received intensive training to improve their coaching skills. Also included was a sport day they organised for age group 7 to 8 primary school students.
The sports coaches course was facilitated by Michiel Derksen and falls under the Directorship of Society & Welfare.
The Sports Coach course was established on the Island as a means to further develop sports in general explained Director of Sports Carla Duinkerk.
The program with a mission to help children, adults and seniors on the island to get in shape and stay fit and healthy was financed by the Ministry of Sports & Social Affairs for a period of three years.
